The Challenge
Microsol develops improved cookstove projects in rural areas of Peru, Mexico, and Guatemala. However, without a Communications or Marketing department, they struggled to define their brand identity, establish a communication style, and identify their target audience. While they had extensive technical information on their projects, their impact on rural communities, and their results, they lacked the expertise to present this information effectively to a broader audience.
- The Approach
- 1 Conducted a systematic analysis of all relevant organizational information, including brand manuals, guidelines, technical information, presentations, brochures, and more.
- 2 Organized meetings and workshops with various departments to understand their roles, responsibilities, and target audiences within the organization.
- 3 Clearly defined the three distinct services Microsol provided and their respective audiences, forming the basis for developing tailored communication and marketing plans.
- 4 Developed a new brand identity, updated brand manuals, and redesigned the organization’s logo.
- 5 Updated Microsol’s website and all communication materials to reflect the new brand identity.
- 6 Developed a new content strategy focused on three main topics: improved cookstoves, climate change, and community resilience.
- 7 Implemented the new content strategy by creating blog posts, social media content, success stories, case studies, press releases, and other communication resources.
